Somatic Explorations: Creating space

With Liliana Nuño

The purpose of this workshop is to introduce the principle of sattya (honesty) in the actions we take. In somatic re-education, we practice with sensitivity and honesty and follow the principle of vinyasakrama, which means that the learning process is slowly, or step by step.

We begin by connecting the body parts in relation to gravity, to use as little muscular activity as possible. In addition, we learn to use opposition between body parts to create space between key bone structures (i.e. the pelvis, rib cage and head) to open the spine. This releases excess muscle tension, releasing the breath.

We will use:

  • Moon salutations (Xandranamaskar) to create space

  • Sun salutations (Suryanamaskar A and B) to create space

  • Torsions in standing and seated postures

  • Forward- and backbends

Date & Time: Sunday 23 October | 13:30 - 17:30

Location: Studio FLY | Croeselaan 209 | Utrecht

Price: €59 | Package price: Join all four workshops and get one free - €177
