Yoga Moves offers beginner-friendly classes across multiple studio locations in Utrecht, making it easy to find a class that fits your weekly rhythm.

Which yoga styles are suitable for beginners

When you are new to yoga, classes with a calm pace and clear guidance are often the most comfortable starting point.

Yoga Essentials
A steady class in which postures are introduced step by step. You learn the foundations of breathing, alignment, and relaxation.

Hatha Yoga
Move slowly and deliberately into different poses that challenge your strength and flexibility.

Yin Yoga
A slow practice where postures are held for several minutes. This supports mobility, recovery, and deep relaxation.

Slow Flow
Move and breath in a slow delicious way to experience meditation in motion.

Teachers provide options throughout the class so you can adapt the practice to your body.

What to expect during your first yoga class

Knowing what happens during your first visit can make the start easier.

  • Arrive about 10 minutes before class so you can settle in calmly

  • Our teacher or host will welcome you and show you the studio space

  • The teacher may ask whether you have injuries or specific concerns

  • You follow the instructions at your own pace

  • After the class there is time for questions if needed

  • Yoga mats and props are available in all studios.

What to wear

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Yoga is usually practiced barefoot. Bringing an extra layer can be helpful for the beginning and the final relaxation.

Building a sustainable routine

Most beginners find that one or two classes per week create a steady start. With regular practice, strength, mobility, and body awareness gradually develop. Consistency matters more than intensity.
